Who we, and our dogs are...

Toni Barnhart: "I became involved in the sport of Dog Agility in 2000 in California. I have been teaching agility in East Hawaii for 16 years. My dogs have earned NADAC elite and AKC Masters titles. Oliver the other "Bossie" is 12 years old. Rowan, the Border Collie, is 9 and is at the end of her agility career. Albie is a one year old Aussie. "

Dawn Bradford: “I truly credit Far-Flung agility training for my love of agility. I train three dogs of my own, all Aussie/Border Collies. My dogs all enjoy swimming as much as agility! I have competed in NADAC and AKC and most of all I enjoy helping teams find their bond and excel in agility.”

Emma Gerrish: "I fell in love with agility with my first dog, Noel a Sheltie, when I was 15 years old, and have been obsessed with agility ever since. I currently have a retired Shepherd mix, Jessie, and Kip, an almost 2 year old Sheltie who is loving agility training. I enjoy competing with my dogs, and have done CPE, NADAC, and AKC trials. I strive to make agility training as fun as possible for the dogs by focusing on fun and motivation, and a solid foundation.”

Sandy Hamamoto: "I currently train with Mochi, a six year old border collie mix, and have been involved with agility for over five years. Mochi and I are also members of the HOTC and compete in AKC Agility & Rally.  Mochi is a Certified Therapy Dog who visits Hawaii Care Choices Hospital and goes to the library for the Read to Me program."

Jenny Hoskins: "I began training and showing in the obedience world at age twelve. Since then I have trained dogs for competitive obedience, the conformation ring and bird hunting. I discovered agility at Far Flung four years ago and never looked back. Agility provides physical exercise and mental stimulation for the dogs and a super fun way to develop a bond between dog and handler. Currently I train with three Irish Setters; Maia, Quinn and Tex."

We provide private and semi-private lessons in agility for interested individuals and their dogs on the Big Island. We emphasize positive training, and having fun with your dog(s). We also stress the need for strong foundation skills.

Please see the "classes" page of this website for more details on classes.
